I would describe myself as a born-again BOFH, mellowed by age and experience.  I’ve worked in many roles and have handled many responsabilities, and yet can’t shake the almost fervent belief that things should be done right the first time, or not bothered with at all.  I’m a contradiction, so sue me.

I used to write about cars and the car industry, simply as an armchair commentator.  I stopped because it’s become a depressing topic, especially when you realise how dumb and irresponsible it is to base a world-wide economy on it.  I still like cars, I just won’t bore you with them … much.

I ‘m about to leave the 14th safest bank in the world, where I dealt with Unix problems and bureaucracy.  A lot of bureaucracy.  Not sure where I head to next, maybe back to R&D or become a Llama farmer, each with benefits and problems.

My evenings I devote to reading, poking at intresting Unix tools/problems and playing  an Internet Spaceship Game.  I’ve almost stopped toying with my new baby Pentax SLR, but did learn the ins-and-outs of camerawork and had lots of fun collecting lenses for all occasions.  The camera-hound mood isn’t with me right now, but not altogether gone.

I’m a fairweather bike  commuter, riding an Alfine-8-ed Kona Unit rolling on giant Shwalbe Big Apples.  The riding to-and-fro keeps me somewhat fit, but mostly helps dissipate the ripples of the daily chaos.

Besides that, you can add another 3-4 hobbies and becomes obvious that the  ”I’m single” tagline should be highlighted somewhere in here.
