Send in the Strippers!

Nothing like the word “Stripper” in a Reuters article title to make you do a double-take.  Ok, maybe not you, but certainly worked on me… and many others judging from the articles #1 spot on the Reuter’ home page.  Heck, it dropped spots due to the Flu Pandemic scare, and then re-emerged at the top again.  Strippers are powerful!

The article, titled : “Fear a high school reunion? Hire a stripper” is wonderful little tale the you can guess at, but the cheeky idea has also a great technical tour-de-force to go with it.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Comedy writer Andrea Wachner hated the idea of going to her 10-year high school reunion so much that she hired a stripper to go instead, and what followed, she says, was a comical study in human nature.

I have to give her a nod of approval, that is one sneeky and smart way to get back at the High School you may have hated. Since she’ll have very little chance of showing the 40 min documentary, it’s a great pleasure to be able to get at least a small YouTube peek:

Phase 5

Welcome to World Health Organization’s Phase 5.

Phase 5 is characterized by human-to-human spread of the virus into at least two countries in one WHO region. While most countries will not be affected at this stage, the declaration of Phase 5 is a strong signal that a pandemic is imminent and that the time to finalize the organization, communication, and implementation of the planned mitigation measures is short.

If your company has a Pandemic Incident section to their Disaster Recovery Process, it’s perhaps time to practice it.
