VW Golf GTD
I’ve been waiting on such good news. CarScoop has the current details on the VW Gold GTD, the Diesel version of the GTI. But in short, 170HP, 258lbs of torque from 1,750 rpm and 44.3 MPG.
I find this car to be the right amount of presence and power, almost a Q Car from the get go.
Stuff this engine in a VW Tiguan and watch the sales eclipse everything. That’s what I think anyhoot.
Update: Official unveiling at Leipzig auto show as told by AutoBlog.
What… is the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow?

Although I just abused a Monty Python reference, it’s very appropriate. Google has announced project “Unladen Swallow“, aimed at speeding up the Python language using an LLVM-based Just In Time compiler. Yes, Monty Python references are a must in the tech related world.
That and IT Crowd…
Props to ArsTechnica
