Productive Scholar

I bumped into a Blog called Productive Scholar while looking at options on Mac to backup online. I think the site could give some great ideas to many folks, not just the scholarly.
As for the online backup, I think I will try Mozy on the wee Mac. The “product” is from Decho, short for “Digital Echo”, an EMC “cloud” subsidiary that has merged in technology from Pi and Mozy.
What intrigues me is that the former Pi research offices are in Montreal, QC and that Decho is still looking to fill positions there. So if you are into Unix and backup technology …
Beautiful Maserati GranTurismo

There is actually a beautiful sports car in this picture, but I agree with CarScoop, it’s hard to decide if the babe or car atracts more attention. Click the link for more pictures…
MacBundleBox
For 49$ you can gather a large collection of useful tools for the Mac. MacBundleBox contains many intresting bits, though I can’t find enough useful items at first glance. I will certainly do another sweep later though.
DJ Alice Cooper!

Last night I was on the road to take care of some shopping. The last few months, the Subie sits idle for weeks on end, and due to a stupid anti-theft device my insurer demands I install (or pay a massive surcharge), the batteries go down to 10v or so in 2 weeks. The car is parked in the underground garage of my building, and sadly, there is no way to setup a trickle charger.
So the first priority after “boosting” the car is to run it for a while to recharge the battery. For me, that means roughly 45 min of highway …
Driving has always been a pleasure of mine, especially in the rainy nighttime, and the accompaniment of music via CD or radio is a must. While poking around the dials last night, I hit a station with an intriguing tag jingle : “Coming up, Night’s with Alice Cooper“.
To my incredulity, it is Alice Cooper, sardonic, sarcastic, slightly caustic too. But funny and a good throwback to Rock&Roll DJing.
Shopping done, I was on the road again around 21:00, and just as I was hitting the highway, Alice introduces “Boston with Foreplay/Long Time”. And the volume dial goes up, foot pedal goes down, and the “foul weather fiend” Subie begins to eat up miles at a great pace. Darn it, Alice is going to risk my license
